Got in the car and went mad.
On a whim, I decided to try Asda, a supermarket whose gluten free virtues I’ve extolled before. It’s not brilliant for fruit and vegetables, in my opinion. But its free from section is without equal – well the one in Great Yarmouth is.
I’ve posted a few photos already of my trolley dash, but let’s just recap in writing – in case you didn’t grasp the import of the images:
Croissant and Pain Au Chocolat
Morrisons in Gorleston sates coeliacs with one row of products, Tesco’s has shrunk to two and Sainsbury’s three. Asda though top trumps these with 5 rows or columns – and the prices are lower too.
To celebrate tonight, I cracked open a pack of gluten free sausages at £1.59, scrambled some eggs, heated beans and grilled some bacon. Yes a cooked breakfast at 7pm, accompanied by a gin and tonic.
Now listening to Passenger’s latest, content with life and relieved that my Facebook feed is no longer full of ice bucket challenges.
Life is sweet, as Mike Leigh said.
